Why are bad habits so easy to form, and so difficult to break? Why is the formation of good, lasting habits so hard? James Clear provides a clear roadmap for how to implement behaviour change techniques and set up systems in your everyday life so that you can begin your journey of self improvement. Whilst a 1% improvement may not be visible to anyone immediately, or even to yourself, continuing every day for a year leads to exponential improvement and undeniable results.
Since reading Atomic Habits, I have managed to increase how much I read, by setting systems in place to make it easier. Reaching for my book instead of my phone when I am on the bus is now no longer something I have to consciously think about, and has allowed me to double the time I spend reading each week. I would recommend this book to anyone looking to increase the time they spend on the things that matter the most, but are often pushed aside.
