Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Data Engineer/Architect to join our Digital Marketing business unit. This pivotal role involves constructing and managing robust data processing architectures and instituting data-driven decision-making processes and demands strong analytics, communication, and collaboration skills. The ideal candidate has strong business acumen with a keen understanding of value creation, will play a key role in turning raw data into actionable intelligence, and should excel in extracting insights from complex datasets. The role involves working within multiple agile teams located in Basel and collaborating with development teams in the US and India.

Key Responsibilities:

Collaborate closely with various stakeholders, including Product Managers, Sales, Data Scientists, and Engineers to understand product goals and needs, driving the data strategy to support these objectives.
Conduct data analysis to uncover business insights that will inform strategy and decision-making.
Ensure production readiness by implementing and maintaining robust data pipelines and processes to meet operational requirements and standards, ensuring the integrity and efficiency of data processing.
Own and maintain critical metrics and reports, supporting customers, leadership, engineers, analysts, and data scientists in making well-informed business decisions.
Continuously improve the data platform’s reliability, scalability, performance, and maintainability by implementing new features and improvements.

Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or equivalent engineering field.
6+ years of relevant work experience.
Fluent in English, with excellent communication and effective collaboration skills.
Proven experience in client interactions, translating requirements into technical specifications.
Strong background in Database Design and Modeling.
Experience with structured and unstructured data.
Analytical skills to identify and solve complex problems.
Proficiency in SQL and an object-oriented programming language, Go is a plus.
Knowledge of JavaScript, HTM, and CSS is a plus.
Familiarity with developing and integrating RESTful and GraphQL APIs.
Experience with container orchestration technologies like Docker or Kubernetes.
Experience in designing data warehouses and data cubes for reporting and self-service analytics, with a preference for Tableau or Microsoft’s BI platform.
