About the role:
The Deputy Manager – GL will be an individual contributor and will play an integral role in driving global process standardization, transactional efficiency, process performance, and provide expertise in M&A activities. The ideal candidate will have 10 years of work experience which includes assisting the team with technical expertise in the areas of month end closing, account reconciliations, intercompany and Foreign exchange analysis. Candidate must be a people leader with a positive attitude and creativity. Must be detail oriented and possess the ability to think and react quickly. Candidate should have the ability to interact with cross functional teams, including Finance Transformation, Treasury, Accounts Payable and FP&A. Our ideal candidate is a great problem solver and communicator.
What you will do
Drive the process improvement in General Ledger team (R2R) to deliver targeted business benefits and simplified processes.
Provide insights into potential policy changes related to R2R process and drive the improved adherence to policies.
Identify, drive, and monitor continuous improvement related to the R2R process.
Suggest methods for optimization of tools used in the process, viz: NetSuite ERP, Blackline reconciliation tool, Coupa etc.
Timely root cause analysis to understand problem drivers and implementation of necessary corrections and changes.
Liaising with the finance transformation and the GL team leads to drive the identified process changes.
Provide process expertise in accounting for business integrations including mergers and acquisition of companies.
Answers accounting and financial questions by researching and interpreting data.
Complete complex research and inquiries of GL transactions and activities.
Assist with accounting integration activities, which includes implementing a variety of finance and accounting related software solutions.
Other projects as assigned based on business needs.
What you will need
CA or CPA with 7+ years of experience, at least 3+ years proven management/supervisory experience.
Experience in working on NetSuite will be a big plus.
Strong understanding of US GAAP.
Managed teams, represented as a controller.
Stakeholder management and building relationships: Make and keep commitments, seek opportunities to partner with customers, be optimistic, and anticipate needs.
Candidate should be self-motivated, able to effectively prioritize responsibilities, work within tight deadlines, and work in a dynamic environment.
Good communicator, confident in interacting with all levels of individuals across a variety of internal functions (remote or on site) with excellent interpersonal skill to build relationships with a range of stakeholders.
Must be able to think outside the box, work independently with general supervision, be a team player.
Continuously identify opportunities for process improvement.
Advanced Microsoft Word and Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP functions, etc.) a Plus.
ERP (accounting software package) experience is required. NetSuite experience is preferred.
