About the team Governance Team
A small, friendly team who maintain high standards of corporate governance across the various countries where GBG have operations. Being a UK listed company the Team ensure that the decisions made by GBG are made in the best interests of all stakeholders, whilst also ensuring compliance with legal, ethical and regulatory requirements.
About the role
Based in either Chester or London and reporting to the Group Company Secretary, you will lead on all activity relating to GBG’s ESG Strategy including the planning, development, communications and implementation, ensuring all priorities are completed to a consistently high standard, within budget and on time.
What you will do
• Support the organisation to successfully execute its ESG Strategy (Ethics, Environment, Everyone) whilst ensuring alignment with the business’s wider strategies and goals.
• Respond to questions received from various stakeholder groups (including customers and prospective customers) on our ESG strategy.
• Review and analyse GBG’s wider corporate activities and provide recommendations related to enhancing the ESG Strategy and messaging.
• Research sustainability standards and ESG best practices, specifically against companies similar to GBG, in line with priorities. • Own and manage the implementation of the ESG programme through an annual plan and quarterly roadmaps.
• Lead on reporting in line with recognised sustainability frameworks, to include data collection and analysis e.g. emissions data and diversity data.
• Ensure compliance with reporting frameworks, legislation, market trends and regulatory developments.
• Ensure the delivery of the annual ESG Report (part of our Annual Report and Accounts).
• Maintain the ESG section of our corporate website, ensuring it is kept up to date with relevant information.
Who you will work with
• Engagement and collaboration globally with key internal stakeholders on all aspects of Environmental, Social and Governance strategy, development and implementation.
• Working closely with the communications team and other key internal stakeholders to embed the focus and importance of ESG into the organisation.
• Report regular progress updates to the Executive, ESG Committee and all relevant internal and external stakeholders.
Skills
• Strong programme management experience and a focus on delivery.
• Technical knowledge and experience of ESG/sustainability including policies and reporting frameworks essential.
• Experience working on sustainability strategies.
• A passion for ESG issues and a growth mindset that will enable you to build your knowledge and experience of ESG over time, including consideration on how GBG could position its products and services in the context of ESG (Identity and Fraud solutions).
• Effective communicator who can build and maintain relationships with a wide range of senior stakeholders. Ability to work on multiple priorities, with various stakeholders across different cultures and geographies.
• Collaboration and influencing skills, and an ability to work at all levels across an organisation.
• Strategically minded but with a willingness and flexibility to ‘roll up your sleeves’ to oversee the programme, as well as project manage some elements to drive early results and progress.
• Excellent organisational skills with excellent attention to detail and demonstrates a clear, accurate, concise reporting style.
• Experience in analysing and interpreting data to create recommendations.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills.
• Skills and knowledge across the full range of Microsoft tools.
