The Team

You’ll be working as part of a dynamic Software Engineering Team to deliver highly capable features to our existing Identity Verification product. Your diverse squad is formed of Software Engineers, Quality Assurance (QA) Engineers, Product Owners, Database Engineers, and a SCRUM Lead.

The Role

We’re a Microsoft .NET ecosystem hosted in Microsoft Azure with an ambition to further develop and modernise our technology stack in the cloud. Building on our existing automation suites and transforming the way we deliver software. We all get the chance to meet up once a quarter so travel to the office to meet with your colleagues and plan for the road ahead is required.

What you will do

As a QA engineer you will work as part of an Agile SCRUM team with your primary focus on delivering quality. You will be responsible for the writing and execution of automated test scripts as well as maintenance and future proofing of existing frameworks. You will also work closely with other QA engineers; team leads, Software Engineers to drive change and progression within QA at GBG.

Assist in the testing and implementation of new features and releases of our Identity Verification Software.
Continually develop skills, competencies, and knowledge to support your personal development.
Design, engineer, test, document and integrate components in line with the agreed ‘Definition of Ready’ and ‘Definition of Done’.
Elicit, understand, and challenge stakeholder requirements.
Mentor / train / coach other team members proactively and as needed.
Investigate causes of failed tests and assure conformity to test conditions.
Proactively identify trends to address problems before they become incidents.
Proactively share knowledge with colleagues.
Participate in Agile activities, ceremonies and planning with your team.
Shape documentation.
Support continuous integration practices including test driven development

 

Requirements

What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an individual who can bring a passion and energy to the team to test great software. Working closely with Software Engineers & Product Owners to refine and set out test criteria and really understand the nature of what we’re building. Some of the attributes we’re looking for are.

Ability to work well within a team and support others.
Completes tasks to a high standard.
Experienced in working in an Agile / SCRUM environment.
Proven experience in working in a Software Development environment.
Proven experience in a Software Quality Assurance role.
Strong and demonstratable knowledge of QA methodologies and processes.
Experience with Test Automation Tooling, Jira (or equivalent), API Frameworks (SOAP & REST), ReadyAPI, JMeter, UI Automation (Java & Selenium web driver) and Source Control (preferably Git).
Desirable understanding of Test-Driven Development (TDD) practices, Performance Testing, Continuous Integration (CI) / Continuous Delivery (CD), Azure DevOps and Cloud (Azure).
Ability to create detailed test plans and communicate that with others to ensure smooth releases and adherence to schedule.
Good communication skills, highly organised and able to manage time effectively with a strong attention to detail.
