There is little doubt that 2020 has uprooted nearly everything we knew about productivity and self-management. Balancing our thoughts, feelings and actions is always difficult, and this year, it has become even more difficult. Setting goals and achieving them may seem impossible without a playbook. These five easy tips can help you get on the path to success.

1. Prioritize what makes you happy

In today’s workplace, it is nearly impossible to balance multiple projects simultaneously. Taking on too much can quickly lead to burnout. Instead, try to focus on a small group of tasks and limit distractions. This way you can prioritize what matters, which can lead to a good work ethic and a healthier lifestyle.

Find happiness in the little things. This can be as simple as adding your favorite emoji to an email, scheduling daily walks or eating your favorite food. When you are happy, it is easier to make things happen. Our attitudes shift and you can increase your productivity and take on more.

2. Take time to self-reflect

Routine self-check-ins can be instrumental for personal growth, allowing us to pause and examine our thoughts and feelings around a topic. During this time, you can celebrate victories and think about where to implement change. Mistakes happen, but how can you grow from them? Address what happened, identify what you will do differently next time, and move towards your next project.

Artist, and author, Adam J. Kurtz, recently created a PDF Explore kit for this process. It will help you channel your creativity which can aid in self-reflection. When you self-reflect, it is easier to manage your space and time.

3. Always be open to learning

Every day is an opportunity to learn something new. Take time to explore. Listen to other people with different life experiences. This will help you empathize and understand the world. Then you can share this newfound knowledge with your community.

As a professional, you are constantly learning how to improve your skills. Always be open to learning. Stay curious!

4. Make time to figure out what works best for YOU

Life is about balance. When you set boundaries and protect your time, you’re set up for success. But how do you to stay balanced when life seems to be getting more difficult?

Adam J. Kurtz created a Balance kit to help us hold it all together. This PDF toolkit features a mood check-in and a to-do list to keep you organized and on track. Take small steps. This leads to saving time and energy in the long run. Finding balance is a process and will change over time, but the more we pursue it, the easier it gets.

5. Go easy on yourself

As we all adjust to these weird times, it is critical to reflect and reset. Take time for yourself. Mindfulness and self-compassion should be a top priority. Focus on your mental, physical, and emotional health.

Be kind and patient with yourself and have faith in your own abilities and in your own judgment. We frequently forget the impact this can have on our state-of-mind and overall health.
